  1. Combine onion, Key lime juice, and tequila in a large skillet over high heat; saute until onion is translucent, 3 to 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium. Add shrimp, green bell peppers, cilantro, and cayenne pepper; cover and simmer until shrimp turns bright pink, about 7 minutes.

  • Substitute 2 tablespoons lime juice for the key lime juice if preferred.
