Tennessee Sausage 'N Cheese Dip

  1. Brown sausage in large skillet on medium-high heat. Drain fat. Set aside.
  2. Melt butter in large saucepan on medium heat. Stir in milk and Gravy Mix with a whisk. Stirring frequently, cook on medium heat until gravy comes to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in cooked sausage, cheese and tomatoes. Cook 3 to 5 minutes or until cheese is melted, stirring frequently.

  • For a spicier dip, add finely chopped jalapeño peppers into dip or garnish with sliced jalapeño peppers.

I made this for Family Dinner Night, and everybody really liked it. After dinner, I asked them to guess the secret ingredient (the pork gravy mix), and no one could guess or could believe it was...

This was great! Kids loved it. If you like it thicker I would drain half the juice from the Ro-tel. This dip would be good with bacon as well.

Yummy and interesting southern take on queso with the addition of gravy mix and sausage. The family enjoyed it! :-)
