Directions

  • Combine water and oats in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and stir in banana slices and turmeric. Continue cooking until desired consistency is reached, 2 to 5 minutes more.

  • Remove saucepan from heat and stir in cinnamon. Stir oatmeal and cover saucepan; let sit until thickened, about 2 minutes.

  • Transfer oatmeal to a bowl and top with peanut butter.

Cook's Note:

Milk can be used in place of the water, if desired.

I loved this twist on oatmeal. I only had fresh turmeric so I used my smallest shredder and it worked out just fine. I did add 2 packets of Truvia and a splash of milk. I did not care for the peanut butter in the oatmeal it seemed it was competing with the turmeric. I will leave it out next time I make it. Other than that I loved it. Read More
