  1. Heat 3 tablespoons butter in a large pot over medium-low heat until mostly melted. Add cabbage. Place remaining 1 tablespoon butter on top of the cabbage. Cover and cook until cabbage is tender, about 10 minutes. Uncover and stir cabbage to coat evenly with butter. Remove from heat and let stand, covered, about 3 minutes. Season with black pepper.

I used purple cabbage and added sliced leeks and jalapeños when I added the cabbage to the pan. Per others' suggestion I also added salt. This was so good!

Easy and oh so good. Added salt. Will make it again. Great side for grilled salmon.

I added some sliced carrots just to add some more flavor. Delicious recipe!

Made this for dinner tonight, it was sooo good. Will definately be making it again.

So Good! Was really surprised this was as good as it was. Cooking time was a bit more for me than written but otherwise, really good.

Very nice! I had no idea how to cook cabbage without bacon and being soggy! Add whatever spices you prefer and be sure to cut quite thin strips. 5 star, thank you!!

Simple and delicious side dish! I did add salt, but that was my only change...we love this! Thanks for sharing. :)
