Instructions Checklist
  • Preheat heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-low heat. Butter one side of two slices of bread and then turn buttered side down. Top one slice with ham slices (5 ounces) and the other with cheese slices (3 ounces) and transfer to skillet face up and cook for 5-7 minutes or until bread is lightly browned and cheese is beginning to melt. Remove sandwich halves from skillet and transfer to cutting board and repeat for remaining sandwiches.

My husband said it was the best sandwich he ever ate. I would have given it 5 stars, The only down side is the high calorie content. But since it’s Christmas we gave it a pass. Anything that tasty has to be high in calories, right! I used fresh market brioche bread and leftover spiral sliced boneless ham from X-mass dinner. Along with the delicious cranberry relish from fresh market. Tips: I put the finished sandwiches in a lg. lasagne dish on warm in the oven so I could serve them all at once. It is important to cook them on low so that the cheese melts and the bread does not burn. I used my LaCruset cast iron grill pan. Sorry I forgot to take a picture. Read More
