  • Place beaten eggs in a shallow bowl. Place bread crumbs in a separate bowl and mix with 1/2 cup of the shredded cheese.

  • Dip chicken breasts in the egg mixture. Coat chicken breasts on all sides with bread crumbs. Place chicken breasts on prepared baking sheet.

  • Bake in preheated oven 20 minutes. Remove sheet from oven and top each breast with some marinara sauce. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the breasts.

  • Bake until cheese has melted and sauce is bubbly, about 10 more minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

Cook's Notes:

I love chicken, marinara sauce, and cheese, so I was determined to make a recipe that I could "whip up" on a week night after a long day at work.

Serve with a side of pasta or salad and garlic bread.

A quick easy and very tasty meal. I had 2 pretty large breasts so I split them and wound up with 4 breasts. I seasoned both sides of the breasts with Lawry's Seasoned Salt and fresh cracked black pepper. Other than that I did not change a thing. I baked the time specified and my chicken was cooked to perfection. Read More

I made this exactly as described. It was ok. I think it needed a bit more cheese. I served it over spaghetti noodles. Read More

This was delicious and a very quick meal to prepare. My husband both sons & I all enjoyed it. My only suggestion is to add some seasoning to the chicken beforehand (salt pepper etc.) Otherwise it was perfect. Read More

This was fast to make and certainly deserves 5 stars. If I could suggest any change it would be to use Italian seasoned panko - this will give depth and a nice crunch. I didn't change the recipe and found the seasoned bread crumbs to be flavorful enough. Read More
