Original recipe yields 6 servings
- Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Add quinoa, raisins, golden raisins, and rum; reduce heat and simmer, covered, until water is absorbed, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and keep covered, about 5 minutes.
- Fluff quinoa mixture with a fork and stir in cinnamon. Ladle into 6 serving bowls; top each with 1 tablespoon maple syrup.
- Cook's Notes:
- Substitute a dash of rum extract for the spiced rum if preferred.
- Honey can be used in place of maple syrup, and diced figs and apricots are also a good addition.
