Original recipe yields 1 servings (1 1/2 cup)
- Mix water, oats, and a dash of salt together in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on 50% power until oatmeal is chewy and tender, about 5 minutes. Stir. Mix in butter, seasoning blend, salt, and pepper. Let stand for 1 minute before serving.
- Cook's Notes:
- Substitute margarine or the oil of your choice for the butted if desired.
- If you like, you may add a little sugar for sweetness, but I like it without.
- This is as good as steamed shredded wheat with salt, pepper, and butter; another wonderful savory dish I enjoy in the morning.
