  • Fill a large pot with water. Add minced garlic, salt, and pepper; bring to a boil. Add chicken legs; cook until tender, about 10 minutes. Drain.

  • Arrange chicken legs on the wire rack. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Flip and continue baking until juices run clear, about 20 minutes more.

  • Transfer chicken legs to a slow cooker. Cover with hot pepper sauce and melted butter.

  • Cook on Low until flavors combine, 1 to 2 hours.

Cook's Notes:

If using unthawed chicken legs, boil for 15 minutes.

This also makes the most delicious chicken wings! You just need to decrease the baking time.

Partner Tip

Reynolds® Aluminum foil can be used to keep food moist, cook it evenly, and make clean-up easier.

I almost passed by this recipe because we are not big fans of legs until I happened to see the cooks notes about this recipe making the most delicious chicken wings. We love wings. I still wasn't sure if I'd like this since we usually fry our wings prior to coating them in sauce. I liked this just fine and in fact the leftovers hold up much better the next day. If you are looking for a healthier way of cooking hot wings then look no further. Read More

Made nice tender chicken legs. For fear of making it too hot I used 6 oz of taco seasoning with a couple dashes of tobasco for the sauce. Read More
