  • Whisk 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons water, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt together in a large bowl.

  • Refrigerate mixture until chilled, 30 minutes to 1 hour.

  • Pour mixture into an ice cream maker. Freeze according to manufacturer's instructions, about 15 minutes.

Cook's Note:

You can make this without an ice cream maker too. After whisking, pour into a freezer-safe bowl. Freeze for 45 minutes. If it's frozen around the edges, stir vigorously and return to the freezer. Continue checking and stirring every 45 minutes to an hour until frozen to the correct consistency.

Really easy to make and very, very tasty! The only thing I'd do differently is give it more time in the ice cream maker. Next time I make this, I'll make sure that I have some raspberries in the house. They would taste so good with this sorbet. Read More

I like dark chocolate but this is really dark dark chocolate. It could have used a little more sugar to me. I mixed the ingredients over the stove to be sure the sugar was thoroughly dissolved. It came out smooth and creamy and very rich. Read More
