  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic, parsley and red pepper flakes; saute 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Cook pasta according to package directions.
  4. Drain pasta, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water. Immediately add hot pasta to skillet.
  5. Stir in reserved pasta cooking water. Mix well. Add cheese and toss lightly.
  6. Transfer to a serving platter or bowl.

This is a fast simple recipe. It is good as the recipe states or with chicken.

This is more of a side dish than a main dish. I chose to add in some sautéed shrimp to make it have a little bit more substance; it was OK but it's not anything that I would rave about.

I made this when I had asked my husband what he wanted to eat and he replied "whatever is fastest". It doesn't get any faster or easier than spaghetti, peperoncino, aglio e olio for a "primo" (...
