Holiday Hot Buttered Rum Batter

Paleo-friendly, unique in flavor, and easy to assemble. By using organic grass-fed dairy butter and pure maple syrup, you cannot miss with this blend. Guilt can be thrown to the wind... almost anyway! Caution, do not drink and drive! Keeps in the refrigerator until ready to use, up to 1 month.

  • ½ cup salted butter, at room temperature

  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup

  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

  • 1 teaspoon rum extract

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon


  1. Combine butter, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, rum extract, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Blend with a wooden spoon or electric mixer until thoroughly mixed and smooth. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate, 8 hours to overnight.

To serve:

Measure out 1 teaspoon of batter (or to taste) and warm in a mug in the microwave. Mix into hot coffee, hot cocoa, or warmed milk. You can also add a generous splash of rum, or warm up rum with the batter in small coffee cups. Top with whipped cream, and sprinkle with nutmeg.
