To make brownies:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees (175 degrees C) and grease an 8-inch or 9-inch square pan. Place dry brownie mix in a large bowl. Add 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 2 eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract; stir just until combined. Pour into baking pan and smooth the top. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 20 to 22 minutes. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.

Cook's Note:

Having pre-made plastic bags of this brownie mix allows you to scale the recipe as needed. It's easily doubled, quadrupled, etc.

1-13-2017 Certainly easy and inexpensive for gifting, using ingredients I always have in my kitchen. They seemed oily to me, so I think I would prefer to use 1/2 cup butter instead (which would be the recipe for Best Brownies minus the frosting). Read More

I've never had homemade brownies before I tried this recipe. This was last minute as I was making this for my fiance..very easy, SUPER delicious! I did substitute the vegetable oil for applesauce and took them out of the oven a little early because we like them a little gooey. Thank you for the recipe! Read More
