  • Grind hemp seeds into a powder in a food processor; add dates and cocoa powder and process until smooth. Roll dough into balls, pressing tightly.


Cook's Notes:

Store them in the freezer if not eating right away.

You can make them into bars instead of balls if you wish.

I have not yet tested this, but if you add some rum, this could make for some good rum balls.

To be fair, I used triple the number of deglet noor dates instead of medjool, so that could have affected the taste...I really wanted to like these because I have made something similar using nuts, and was hoping this would be a low allergen substitute. The texture was good. Unfortunately, the hemp seed flavor was overpowering. I might experiment with a mixture of seeds and update this review in the future. Read More
