This was excellent! Since I only had vanilla protein powder, I added a few extra tsps of the cocoa powder (2 tsp would have been fine). Can't go wrong with all of these healthy ingredients! It was the perfect amount for one serving. I'll surely make again! UPDATE 5/14/20: I had whole milk and whole plain Greek yogurt to use up so I did half of each for the milk. For the rest, did same as before. Yummy smoothie!Read More

Chocolate and peanut butter, what's not to love!
Delicious. Just rode 40 miles on my road bike and needed a protein smoothie and I found a container of chocolate protein powder so searched for a recipe and allrecipes.com delivered again.
This is yummy. I used a 'frozen' banana so it reduced the amount of ice. B/c I need fiber I added 1/4 of quick oats, used honey to sweeten and a half of an avocado (reduces cholesterol). This will be a staple in my home. Thanks for sharing!!
Super delicious recipe! If you add a splash of vanilla extract, even more tasty!
I have a honey allergy so I omitted the honey and unsweetened cocoa powder. I made it with chocolate milk to give it the extra chocolate flavour it would otherwise be missing but I didn't want all the extra sugars so I used only 1/2 cup and added extra ice (I like a thick shake). My brand of protein powder packs a good chocolate punch so I tried the recipe again without the chocolate milk and it still tasted like it had a nice balance of chocolate-PB-banana . I don't know what the original version tastes like but if you've got a good protein powder you can skip the honey & cocoa. That's what they do at the gym.
It tasted spectacular for a protein shake! But I must say, I am not a fan of chocolate but still laudable.
This was amazing! My three young very picky eaters devoured this delicious smoothie! I substituted cocoa powder with a hot chocolate packet and it worked. This will be a new staple in our household.
Super quick and easy! I added unsweetened almond milk instead of regular milk, and a few tablespoons of plain greek yogurt to thicken it a little bit and to add some more protein. It was delicious! Will make again.
This was delicious! I didn't have any protein powder left so I just made it without. I modified it a little by I using a frozen banana, unsweetened almond milk, added 1/2 an avocado and some extra unsweetened cocoa because I like a richer chocolate flavor. Great recipe!
Initially didn't think that banana would work with chocolate and peanut butter, but it ended up being delicious. 10/10 Would protein it up again
So so delicious! It's by far my favorite protein shake recipe. It's filling too and probably saved me when I drank these after 2 wisdom teeth were pulled and I had to be on a liquid diet.
Delicious! I only had vanilla almond milk and vanilla protein powder so I added 1/2 tsp more of the cocoa powder. No need for honey and it tasted amazing!!
Definitely one of the better ways to use Chocolate protein powder! I think I added more peanut butter than what calls for, but it is delicious! I realized after I threw everything in my blender that I didn't even have cocoa powder, but it still turned out tasty :) and instead of whole milk I used vanilla almond milk and I think that helped a bit too. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
Very tasty. I used a frozen banana instead of ice. Also used 3/4 cup oatmilk instead of regular milk and added 2 shots of espresso. Yum.
I can't have dairy and I did not have protein powder, but I loved it.
Delicious!! I used almond milk instead and didn't need the cocoa powder as the chocolate protein powder was enough. Made one for my son, husband, and myself. Will make it again tomorrow!
If you’re a health nut, this is not the recipe for you. Mine turned out pretty liquified, which isn’t want I want in a smoothie.
Instead of ice cubes I sliced and froze my banana ahead of time. I used 1T Hershey's syrup instead of the honey and cocoa powder. 10 g sugar vs. 17. So yummy!
Turned out great. I skipped the honey and I think it’s sweet enough. I had a Chocolate PJ shake at Jamba Juice the other day and who really wants to pay that premium all the time. This closely resembles it but it is a little thinner in consistency. That didn’t bother me though. Great flavor!
This drink was so good! I did however add half almond milk and and half regular milk! I also didn't add the coco powder and it was still so good.
Pretty good! Added more cocoa powder though because it’s not as chocolatey as I’d like it.
My first attempt at a meal replacement protein shake. I used Silk Vanilla Almond Milk instead of cows milk. It was awesome!
Delicious smoothie/healthy shake! The peanut butter, chocolate, and banana all come through without any particular one dominating the flavor. I did sub almond milk and truvia. And because it was Saturday and I had already done my exercise for the day, I added fat-free whipped topping to make it extra special!
I added one more protein scoop since that what I needed but I don’t know if I’ll make it again.
I followed the recipe as written and it was very delicious and filling. I'm going to try it without peanut butter next time as a comparison to see if I like it that way as well.
Fantastic recipe!!! The only differences are I added a tablespoon of vanilla yogurt and used almond milk. Thank you for sharing!
I didn’t have any chocolate powder and I switched it out for vanilla, its still so good! I wanted to recreate a shake I get at a local nutrition bar, their drink is $8 and this recipe is literally saving my wallet from demise. Try it. Periodt.
Words cannot describe how great this tastes. I had been doing something like this without the honey and peanut butter and it didn’t taste very good, but this is significantly better.
This was AMAZING! You can taste every ingredient and it literally tastes just like a milkshake!
Yummy although I didn’t add the honey
i loved it
Great recipe, thank you so much! I made it without the honey and it was plenty sweet . Will make again for sure!
I added almonds to the mix just bc protein bro! Joking but this taste exactly like the choc hulk from smoothie king and i love it a1 recipie.
As a base recipe, this was great. I made changes based off what I have at home and used almond butter and added 1/2 c oats, used dark cocoa and probably could have made without the honey. As a chocolate lover, this hit the spot! It was definitely thinner than I was hoping for. Changes I’ll make next time: frozen banana and soy milk
Awesome!!! So I made it exactly as listed, except without the cocoa powder. The whey protein was already chocolate flavored, so I thought it would be fine. It was a little over 2 cups. All of the flavors blended perfectly with these measurements. Comes out to around 500 calories. Next time, I will make 1.5 servings, in order to have a good post workout shake.
This was very very good. I am so grateful that I found this, because I had Vega protein powder but just could not stand the taste of it and did not know what to do with it. I made a smaller glass to test taste first using 12 oz unsweetened almond milk, 1 tbsp of honey, 1 tbsp of peanut butter, and less than half a banana , with half a scoop of Vega mocha protein powder and this turned out amazing. It wasn’t too thick, didn’t have a strong earthy smell, and most importantly it was good. I definitely will continue to use to help me achieve my protein intake. Signed, a 3rd trimester gal
Very good after a tough workout. I didn’t have the protein powder so I doubled the peanut butter and added an extra teaspoon of the coco powder to make it not as peanuty.
Absolutely love this recipe!! Granted, I haven’t used any other. I alter the recipe a little bit (thanks to some other reviewers) and used 8 ice cubes instead of 6, used almond milk, 1 and 1/2 scoop of protein powder instead of cocoa powder (my protein powder’s serving size is 2 scoops), added about 2tbsp non fat Greek yogurt, tiny splash of vanilla, and even added a bit of cinnamon!!! This has been a staple drink for when I have a low protein day and I heavily heavily recommend it! It’s not visually pretty, but it is tasty!
Easy! Great recipe
Great recipe! Was thinking about buying expensive "Shakeology" or "It Works" products until I found this recipe. Used vanilla protein powder, as that is what I had. Turned out out great!
Best protein shake I’ve ever tasted! We use chocolate milk instead of adding cocoa powder
Finally a protein shake that doesn’t taste awful. Tasted more like peanut butter and bananas than a protein shake. Definitely using this recipe again!
A fantastic recipe is great as written or can easily be adjusted with an addition of oats, etc. I often make this as a snack!
This is really good! I added half the amount of peanut butter and it was still great. Good texture and great taste.
Game changer. I was speechless after trying it.
Very nice, not too sweet, not too chalky. Cocoa powder can be reduced or cut for a more peanut butter-banana flavor.
Didn't have honey, but the shake was still delicious.
Absolutely amazing. This was my first time trying it and since I didn't have any coca powder, I used a little bit of chocolate milk. I love it!!
Delicious, but I will probably only make it on days when I finish an intense workout. The way I made it, it had 545 calories and 38 grams of protein. It's definitely a meal.
recipe wise, it was pretty good- real liquidy and thin, not quite the shake or smoothie texture. also, the whole banana is too overwhelming!! i recommend adding less banana for a more chocolate- peanut butter taste.
The hard thing about protein powder is it’s hard for it to not taste chalky. I thought this shake did taste a bit chalky but it’s ok enough to drink it. I used almond butter instead of peanut butter and I thought it tasted real good. I also used almond milk.
I loved it!!! My mother did also and she rarely drinks protein shake. However, I like chocolate and peanut butter more, but my mom likes less chocolate and we were able to figure it out
It was great but had a lot of peanut butter
I used vanilla oatmilk and omitted the honey to make this vegan, but it was fantastic! Highly recommend!
Easy to make and quite tasty!
Extremely smooth and creamy. I used almond milk instead of cow's which probably added to the overall nutrition profile. I think I'll use more banana next time because I'm only getting a faint hint of it. Overall a filling, healthy breakfast or snack.
Was surprisingly tasty. Love chocolate and peanut butter combo. Had no banana but will try it again with. Maybe next time with ice cream
This is seriously delicious! I have made it like ten times and love it!
First I I should make it known that that I NEVER wrote a review on ANYTHING! However, this most definitely deserves a review! I used Body Fortress Protein Powder and I used Almond/Coconut silk milk instead of 2% milk. I added every other ingredient except for ice, cocoa powder and bananas only because my bananas weren’t ripe yet. And even w/o those three ingredients it was so good!
Added chia seeds because why not
Sooo good! The only change I made was I used PB powder! It filled me up post workout. I will be making this again!
So yummy! Subbed peanut butter protein powder instead of peanut butter to save calories! Really good.
Yummy and delicious
Quick & tasty, & the honey was a nice addition to the typical protein shake!
Nice quick recipe for on the go . I used 100 real peanut butter too . High protein healthy start to the day :)
Tasted better than I imagined. Did not use the honey and was plenty sweet from the chocolate protein powder.
Whoa! This shake is RICH!! Still pretty yummy. Since I use a Chocolate Malt protein powder I may forego the extra coco powder next time. And while I love peanut butter... not sure how I feel about drinking it. *smiles* Will definitely try again with maybe some modifications for my taste.
