  • Mix onion and Cheddar cheese together in a bowl. Sprinkle 1/2 of the cheese mixture into the prepared baking dish; top with swai fish. Sprinkle the remaining cheese mixture over fish.

  • Whisk milk, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and black pepper together in a bowl; pour over fish.

  • Bake in the preheated oven until fish flakes easily with a fork and the cheese is melted, about 45 minutes.

Cook's Notes:

Snapper or tilapia can be used in place of the swai fish. Mexican cheese blend can be used in place of the Cheddar cheese, if desired.

I am impressed! Went looking for a tasty fish dish (in our family we do not consume enough??). Well this one sounded good and I made it last night. Oh my...so tasty moist! I am NOT a big fish fan (especially if it tastes "fishy") so I never thought I would eat the whole fillet (and it was very big; 7-8 inches). I surprised myself and my husband and ate the whole thing!! Yay!! (but I do have one question...what the heck is the teaspoon of butter for?!Nowhere in the directions is the butter mentioned so I omitted that ingredient) Yummy yummy yummy!! Thanks so much for sharing this recipe. I'm gonna share with my family and friends! Read More

Made this tonight and it's delicious! I was given this type of fish from my mother and needed a specific recipe. I did not have an onion so put in some garlic instead but very delicious and easy to make. I did use a 9x9 dish instead of 9x13 (as I made it for two servings and not 6). Read More

This was so good. I did change it a little bit. I didn’t have any cheddar cheese so I substituted mozzarella for it. I, also, put this in a loaf pan as I only made one portion and I added frozen Mixed vegetables on the bottom with the onions so I didn’t mess-up more than one pan. Everything else was the same except I omitted salt as I can’t have it. I still cooked it for 45 minutes as it had frozen vegetables on the bottom. It was great. I always cook a single portion before I cook this for the rest of the picky eaters in the family. They all loved it after taking a bite of mine. We had this for dinner. Read More

Made it exactly as directed. Kids and husband loved it. Cut the recipe in half and my cook time was reduced to about 20 or 25 minutes (instead of 45 min as the recipe calls for). Read More
