  • Pour whole box of pasta into a large skillet (approximately 12 inches in diameter). Pour 3 cups of cold water into the pan, ensuring that the water covers the pasta. Turn the burner to high, then set your timer for 10 minutes (optional: add a bit of salt to taste).

  • Cook on high, stirring occasionally, until almost all of the liquid has evaporated.

  • Add cream and broccoli; stir to combine and gently heat through.

  • Remove the skillet from heat, season with salt and pepper to taste and fold in the cheese. Serve immediately.

Great! I did however make a few adjustments. I did not have any heavy cream on hand, instead I added a can of cheese soup, about a cup of milk and minced garlic to taste. I used less shredded cheese because of the soup. The result was creamy and delicious! I think I will continue to make it this way and maybe add some cherry tomatoes and real bacon bits next time. I loved the option of using only one pan and not having to drain the pasta. I also loved the finished dish and served it with Italian sausage. We are not big al dente fans and tt the end of the recommended 10 minute cooking time it was not done enough for our liking. I added another 1/2 cup of water and 6 minutes and it was perfect. This recipe is very versatile. You can add any kind of cheese and vegetables you want and have it taste like a new meal. I made Barilla's Creamy One Pan Broccoli Cheddar Penne dish to test out their Pronto Pasta. I decided to add Italian sausage slices just to add some meat to the meal. Cooking the Pronto Pasta was super easy and it was al dente at that 10 minute cooking mark. It's a fairly simple recipe as you only have to add heavy cream, broccoli florets, cheddar cheese and some salt and pepper to season the dish. It's fast, easy and delicious! I think the main reason why this dish has such high reviews, is simply because it is quick & easy. The flavor was just OK. It definitely needs seasoning & a saucier sauce. This is such a easy and quick addition to any meal. The flavors was good and went well with our BBQ. We even turned this into a one pan meal a second time by adding chucks of cooked chicken.
