Ultimate One-Cup-Only Eggnog

  • 12 egg yolks

  • 1 ¾ cups white sugar

  • 2 quarts heavy whipping cream

  • ½ cup dark rum (such as Bacardi®)

  • ½ cup cognac

  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg

  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves


  1. Beat egg yolks and sugar together in a large bowl until pale yellow; stir in cream, rum, cognac, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Refrigerate until chilled, at least 1 hour.
