  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef and garlic in hot oil until completely browned, 5 to 7 minutes.
  2. Stir kidney beans, onion, and bell pepper with the beef mixture. Pour tomato sauce over the beef mixture; season with chili powder and salt. Stir the mixture so the sauce coats everything, reduce heat to low, and cook, stirring occasionally, until the chili thickens, about 45 minutes.

I love this as a basic go-to! It's quick and flavorful. I added a bit more garlic to my tastes and a can of diced tomatoes. But it's a great basic formula that you can tamper with or leave as is...

Simple and tasty! I did have some canned diced tomatoes that needed used up, so I threw them in also. The family enjoyed this and I will be making it again! Thanks for sharing. :)

I would recommend adding another can of tomatoes and maybe a dash of paprika
