Simple Broccolini

Rated as 4.6 out of 5 Stars
15

"This quick broccolini dish is delicious, good for you, and full of garlicky, lemony flavor. Broccolini is more tender than broccoli and has a milder flavor. I love the mix of textures; the crunchy stems and the softer florets that soak up sauce are a great combination."

  1. Fill a large skillet with 1 to 2 inches of water and bring to a boil; add broccolini and cook until bright green, 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer broccolini to a strainer and drain water from skillet.
  2. Heat olive oil in the same skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir garlic in the hot oil until golden and fragrant, 1 to 2 minutes. Return broccolini to frying pan using tongs; cook and stir until heated through, 2 to 3 minutes. Squeeze lemon juice over broccoli and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

I was searching for a quick and simple recipe to pair with my weeknight meal of cod fish, veggies and rice and this did the trick. Taste was ok and texture was one-dimensional.

I love the simplicity of the recipe! Plus, doing a ice cold bath after cooking it really helps big time! Serving it with roasted garlic alongside it adds more taste. Thank you for sharing! ??

Yunmy recipe and so simple... Added a few sweet yellow cherry type tomatoes and it was just as good!

Simple and easy with a lot of flavor. I, of course, added far more garlic and I liked that. I wonder too if it would be good to cut the broccolini once it was blanched.

beautiful! I served with parmesan crusted tilapia, delicious!

I’m a big fan of broccolini and this is my first time making it at home. Great easy/fast recipe! I paired it with a sweet & spicy mahi mahi. Great match! Will definitely be making this again.

I’ve made this a couple of times and it turns out great every time. Love the added kick of the red pepper flakes.
