Grandma's Lemon Mint Ice Tea

"This is my grandmother's recipe for homemade lemon mint ice tea. A sip of this tea brings back wonderful memories of summer days at my grandparents' house for my brother and I. As we got older, we tweaked the recipe to include lemon vodka, which we now call 'Koehler's Killer Tea.' Enjoy!"

  1. Combine water, tea bags, mint leaves, and orange-flavored drink mix in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer until tea is steeped, about 30 minutes. Add 2 cups cold water to tea and remove mint leaves and tea bags.
  2. Stir sugar and lemon juice into tea until sugar is dissolved; refrigerate until chilled, at least 30 minutes. Stir vodka into tea before serving.

  • Cook's Note:
  • Mint tea vodka can be used in place of the lemon-flavored vodka.

I made this without the vodka, very refreshing. We're having a heat wave and this was perfect for a cool me down drink.
