  1. Preheat a waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. Whisk milk and egg yolks together in a separate bowl. Beat egg whites in a separate bowl using an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Stir egg yolk mixture into flour mixture just until batter is moistened. Stir butter into batter and fold in egg whites.
  3. Ladle about 1/4 cup batter into preheated waffle iron and cook according to manufacturer's instructions until golden, about 5 minutes; repeat with remaining batter.

Amazing!!!! Added vanilla and a couple tbls of sugar.. Soooo delicious!!!

Cut salt in half. Added 3 tbsp. sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla. Original recipe had way too much salt.

Pretty good waffles! They were really fluffy and light, but had a great buttery flavor. I didn't give this 5 stars since I like my waffles a little bit more dense, but I would make these again.

These waffles are very delicious, considering that we messed up the recipe by not whisking the egg yolk and putting the milk in at the end, plus adding the egg whites in at the wrong time. If I ...

A buttery waffle, not too sweet and just the way my husband likes them.

I added a bit of cinnamon and vanilla and they still turned out very eggy. Super light and fluffy and my husband liked them, but not what I was expecting.

Waffles were light and fluffy. The kiddies found the buttery taste a bit much for them. I will cut the butter to 1/2 cup and add in 1/2 cup of applesauce.

I left it just the way it was and they are delicious just the was the recipe is because you are already going to put fruit syrup or some other sweet. They are great this way very light .
