Easy Ginger Beef

"In looking for a healthier version of the standard ginger beef, I came up with this non-deep fried version. The longer you marinate the beef, the more ginger flavor it soaks up."

  1. Place steak, ginger, and soy sauce in a bowl; turn to coat steak. Cover tightly; marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  2. Heat a wok over high heat; pour in beef mixture. Cover wok; cook until beef is browned, about 5 minutes. Remove beef from wok.
  3. Heat butter in wok over high heat; stir in bell pepper, onion, mushrooms, and sweet and sour sauce. Cover and cook until vegetables begin to soften, about 3 minutes. Stir cooked beef into vegetable mixture; cook until heated through, about 2 minutes. Serve over cooked rice.

  • Any cut of beef suitable for marinating can be used in this recipe, such as sirloin tip, inside round, eye of round, outside round, flank, or full round.

Pretty good. I used 1.5x the meat, 2 peppers, 1.5 large onions probably could have used 1 large one, a full pack of sliced fresh mushrooms... made homemade sweet and sour sauce from another Allr...

Serve with some red chilly flacks

Super simple and full of flavor. My wok does not have a cover so I just stir-fried it continually throughout the entire cooking time. I was afraid the sweet and sour sauce would make it too swee...

Very tasty. I followed the recipe but next time I will chop the ginger instead if slicing.

Delicious. Wasn’t too thrilled when I’d bite not a piece of that thin sliced ginger. But this recipe is great. I’d add extra steak and serve it just over veggies next time. Yum!

Smells fantastic. Added a few bits of citrus to add extra flavour. Perfect and easy to make.... love it
