I left my butter out to become quite soft, used light brown sugar with the cinnamon & could blend easily with a fork. Was able to leave out on the counter for a week this summer (never lasted longer than that)to make cinnamon toast for the kids. Now making a bowl each week for DS to make the cinnamon toast the kids beg for each morning before school.
Read MoreI used this to make cinnamon toast for a snack. I reduced the servings to 2, but needed to double the sugar and quadruple the cinnamon to make it taste anything like a cinnamon sugar spread. As written, it was just butter with a slightly sweeter taste and barely a hint of cinnamon. 3 stars as written since it was a good base, but was 5 stars with the changes.

Made this as directed accept I added a dash of vanilla. Turned out amazing. Popped some crescent rolls in the oven and they tasted like cinnamon rolls with this butter spread! It is a fast and easy hit with the family.
Just what I needed. My daughter used this to make cinnabunnies for Easter. The proportions of butter to sugar were perfect, we doubled the cinnamon though. Leftovers were happily used on toast. Thank you Shorecook for your recipe! :-)
Easy n super tasty just added a splash of vanilla to it and it taste exactly like the one we get from Bono’s for sweet potatoes. We love it!
This is a great recipe and tastes delicious on sweet potatoes or homemade bread. I also added just a tad of nutmeg and vanilla - Delicious! Meryl M
This stuff is pretty great! Be sure to let your butter come to room temperature if you're going to be hand mixing.
yum, will make again and keep on hand...makes toast so festive :)
My dinner guests raved after eating this on baked sweet potatoes. I can’t skip it with that crowd now!
Simple and easy. Used with Waffles II. Gave the waffles a nice Autumn touch.
I made this and put it on the Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread from this site and OMG! The two together are pure Heaven!
I added this whipped butter to my boiled chunks of sweet potatoes and whipped them all together with a hand mixer, it was super tasty and had a great texture! Everyone loved them.
Delicious! I added 1/2 a teaspoon of cinnamon instead of 1/4 of a teaspoon and it turned out wonderfully!
I made this recipe for an appetizer spread on a loaf of French bread. The rest of the meal was Cajun, and I wanted this to have a little of that flair so I added to this 1/8 teaspoon of ground Allspice. This recipe, with or without the Allspice is wonderful and I will definitely make this again. Thank you for a great recipe Shorecook.
Easy and good! I did use 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. Thanks for the recipe!
I just made this right now to use as a glaze for my pumpkin muffins. I used to Stevia in the raw because I am diabetic; other than that, everything else is the same and it was just enough to glaze my muffins as you can see -- thank you for sharing.
Brown sugar packed and used 1/2 tsp of cinnamon. Great on the Cinnamon Raisin Bread
wonderful, I even tried it w margarine, only issue with that is that the oils separate, so for a short shelf life it works

Delicious and a hit at a party. I served this with a sliced loaf of Cranberry Walnut bread I got from my local bakery. I would make this again. May even try some cream cheese spreads similar to this to compare.
I don't know why I never thought of this before. I did change up the recipe a little because I was out of brown sugar so I just added a little molasses to regular white sugar. It was grainy so I heated it up in the microwave until the butter melted and then just blended it with a fork until the sugar dissolved. Regular brown sugar may not need this or maybe someone else might not mind the graininess. I can see putting this on toast, biscuits, pancakes, waffles and in oatmeal, sweet potatoes or carrots.
Made this for our thanksgiving dinner using my homemade butter and everyone loved it on fresh from the oven dinner rolls! Now it's been requested for Christmas dinner also!
6.6.19 Nice spread for a breakfast cinnamon-raisin bagel, and so simple to make. Little grain from the brown sugar, but I can live with that.
My 4yo especially loves this as a breakfast topping to toast! Thanks for this great recipe!
I made this and found it to be rather bland and grainy. I felt as if something was missing, maybe chopped walnuts? It's wasn't bad and it wasn't great. I guess I was expecting more. Nonetheless, I will use what I made on pancakes in the coming days.
I increased cinnamon to 1Tbs and added 1/2tsp each ground clove and ground nutmeg. Delicious on sweet potatoes.
I did this with fresh homemade butter for our Christmas dinner and it was delicious!!
I always make this butter when I make popovers for a special breakfast.
It was grainy. I too felt like it was missing something. I added a dash of salt and more of everything. Nothing helped.
Great to have on hand for waffles (even frozen) and bagels. Makes school mornings a little easier.
I made this using light brown sugar because that’s what I had on hand. We used it for sweet potato topping on New Year’s Eve. It was a hit!! This will be a staple in our home. (The second time I used a little more brown sugar and a little bit more cinnamon.)
