Slow Cooker Spanish Beef Stew

I made this today but I did not use a crockpot, nor does this dish call for one, rather it uses the term slow cooker which can mean braising. I did mine in a cast iron pan with a tight fitting lid, followed the recipe exactly. I usually do the first time I make a dish from Allrecipes. Next time I will make a couple of minor changes to suit, but all in all, this was a very good recipe. After browning my meat on the stove top I put the pan in the oven at 250 for about 3.5 hours, took it out and it was ready to serve, meat tender and potatoe's done.
