  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef and garlic pepper in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease.
  2. Stir corn, ranch dressing, salsa, and oregano into ground beef mixture; cook and stir until hot and bubbling, 5 to 10 minutes. Serve over cooked rice.

Footnotes

  • Cook's Note:
  • For pitch-in dinners: Put the rice in the bottom of a baking dish with the meat mixture on top. Top with cheese and heat in oven for 10 minutes at 350 degrees (175 degrees C), until cheese melts.
  • Substitute ground chicken or turkey for the ground beef if desired. Sour cream can be substituted for the ranch dressing.
  • Tip
  • Aluminum foil helps keep food moist, ensures it cooks evenly, keeps leftovers fresh, and makes clean-up easy.

The only substitution that I used was half ranch and half sour cream. This dish was just ok...the kids didn't really care for it. As others stated, it's not the best looking dish. I'd definite...

Very tasty and super quick. I used chopped garlic, threw in onions and jalapeños and switched the ranch to creamy Parmesan dressing (cause it's all I had). Came out delicious!

Actually amazed how good this is

This was a delicious and easy meal. Be sure to add salt, it really makes it better! Also, I put the cheese on top after cooking it because it didn't really explain. Turned out great!

Very easy and convenient to make; can be adapted easily to preference or creativity.
