"I've been making this recipe for over 30 years, and it's always a hit. My husband likes it so much we call it 'Jim's Casserole' at our house. It's a great alternative to green bean casserole at Thanksgiving."

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Mix green beans, celery soup, sour cream, shoepeg corn, Cheddar cheese, water chestnuts, and lemon juice together in a bowl; spread into a casserole dish.
  3. Mix crackers and butter together in a bowl; sprinkle over the casserole.
  4. Bake in preheated oven until hot and bubbly, about 45 minutes.

This was verging on just okay for us. I think it had too much sour cream and just not enough flavor. This definitely needs some seasoning - salt and pepper at the least.

A family favorite! Delicious - my husband loves it!!!
