I use the basic marshmallow treat recipe with a twist. They are very pretty and so tasty; they are always the first to go at our school bake sale!

  • Use about half the butter to generously grease a 13x9-inch baking dish.

  • Melt remaining butter in a non-stick stock pot over medium heat; add marshmallows and cook, stirring frequently, until the marshmallows are melted, 5 to 7 minutes. Remove pot from heat.

  • Stir crispy rice cereal, brown sugar and butter-flavored breakfast cereal, and fruit flavored breakfast cereal into the marshmallow mixture to coat; pour into the prepared baking dish and press flat.

  • Cool treats completely before cutting into 3-inch squares.

These are great - I've made them before and they're always a hit. The only thing I would change in the recipe is the 1/2 cup of butter. It says half should be used to grease the pan...that's quite a lot. I used 1/4 cup to melt into the marshmallows then pressed out the squares onto parchment so I didn't use the other butter called for. Turned out perfect. I also always just add a generous pinch of salt to take a little of the sweetness and I let the butter brown just slightly to give them a hint of a caramel flavor. Delicious! Read More

I only had Fruit Loops & Rice Krispies so used 3 cups of each. Also only had Marshmallow Fluff & found a conversion chart, 10 ounces of min marshmallows = 3 cups of Marshmallow Fluff. The brown sugar made it a little too sweet for my taste, but the kids had no problems! Read More
