  1. Heat olive oil in a large frying pan over medium-low heat; cook and stir garlic and sugar in the hot oil until garlic is lightly browned, 3 to 5 minutes. Mix leeks into garlic mixture; cook and stir until leeks are lightly browned, about 10 minutes.
  2. Drizzle lemon juice over leek mixture; season with salt and pepper. Cover pan and cook over low heat until leeks are tender, 15 to 20 minutes.

This was a very nice side dish. So simple and yet, lots of flavor. I will definitely be making this one again.

Lovely recipe. I had 4 smaller leeks and it came up 1lb. It was a little sour for me so I added just a touch of agave. My teenage boys even liked it. Thanks Don for another keeper!

My son gobbled it up! If a recipe can make a teen eat leeks, it's a keeper!

Loved this simple recipe. It was hard to determine how many pounds of leeks to buy to get 2-lbs. of whites. I didn't buy enough, so I just made a half a batch. I really enjoyed the subtle tas...

I really didn't think this would be so tasty. I was very surprised that it was so good! We ate it with teriyaki chicken and rice. Will make this again for sure!

Hate leeks. Love leeks cooked this way. Great recipe.

This is truly yummy. I have given the recipe to several friends. The leeks cook down quite a bit, so it's better to have too much than too little.
