Easy Dump Cherry Crisp

"If you can open a can, you can make this easy dump cherry crisp! Cherry pie filling is topped with a delightfully crunchy oat-nut mixture. As a variation, try adding a teaspoon of cinnamon to the topping."

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9 inch square baking dish.
  2. Dump cherry pie filling into baking dish. In a medium bowl, stir together rolled oats, brown sugar, flour, baking powder and chopped. Pour over cherries. Drizzle melted butter over top.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until lightly browned.

I use white flour in this recipe and I also add a little cinnamon and nutmeg. This is great served warm with vanilla ice cream.

Didn't like the whole wheat flour. Made quite a lot too. I'd recommend halving the recipe. Good though.

This was very good warm from the oven, with some Kirkland vanilla ice cream on top. I added a dash of cinnamon to the topping before sprinkling on the cherries, and used regular unbleached flour...

I didn't have cherry pie filling - but had three cans of cherries - so I made my own filling (recipe usually on the cans!). This way you can avoid the artifical colors that are in pre-made fill...
