  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef, sausage, and onion in the hot skillet until beef and sausage are completely browned, 7 to 10 minutes; drain and discard grease.
  2. Stir stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce, light red kidney beans, dark red kidney beans, mild salsa, chili seasoning mix, and garlic powder into the beef mixture; bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low, and cook at a simmer until the flavors meld, 90 minutes to 2 hours.

I'm re-learning how to cook. This was very easy and tasty. I've made it twice and will keep making it.

Made a meatless, veggie chili by adapting this recipe by substituting protein crumbles instead of beef and sausage. Turned out very nice tasty. Kept all the other ingredients the same.

I just love chili and I'm always trying new chili recipes. I was skeptical because this one doesn't have cumin. I mean what good chili recipe doesn't call for cumin? But this one is really good!...
