Grandma's Maple Candy


A simple maple fudge my grandma used to make. Very frosting-like, but sweet and delicious.

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • ¼ cup heavy cream

  • 3 tablespoons butter

  • 1 pinch salt

  • 1 ⅔ cups confectioners' sugar

  • 1 teaspoon maple extract

  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. Heat brown sugar, cream, butter, and salt in a heavy saucepan over medium heat until butter melts, about 5 minutes; remove from heat. Mix confectioner's sugar, maple extract, and vanilla extract into the sugar mixture.

  2. Grease an 8-inch square cake pan. Pour sugar mixture into the prepared pan. Refrigerate until set, about 1 hour.
