  1. Heat marshmallows, milk, butter, and salt in a saucepan over low heat until marshmallows melt, stirring often, about 5 minutes. Add chocolate chips and vanilla extract; continue stirring until chocolate is melted, 5 minutes more. Serve warm.

This was a disaster. It turned out "greasy" and since I was making it for company, I had to quickly look for another recipe and start all over.

Put it on chocolate cake and ice cream. This was excellent. We only had mini marshmallows, so did 3 1/2 cup minis. Followed the recipe the rest of the way.

So yummy and creamy. I substituted cream for half of the milk and used half milk chocolate chips and half semi-sweet chips.

I have made this several times, but I always use the 7-ounce jar of marshmallow creme instead of the marshmallows. It keeps nearly forever in the refrigerator, and it makes a great gift.
