  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

  • Spread sauerkraut into bottom of a 9-inch square glass baking dish.

  • Stir reserved liquid from sauerkraut, brown mustard, brown sugar, celery seed, and black pepper together in a bowl; drizzle over sauerkraut. Arrange sausage slices in a layer over the sauerkraut and sauce. Loosely pile frozen french fries atop the sausage.

  • Bake in preheated oven until the french fries are lightly browned, 20 to 30 minutes.

We really enjoyed this recipe! If you like sauerkraut and mustard flavoring, then you will like this. Next time, I may decrease the sauerkraut liquid a little, so that the flavor isn't so strong. But, that change certainly isn't necessary. It is very good! Read More

I couldn't get the fries cooled in 30 minutes so I think I'll cook them separate next time or serve the brats and kraut over mashed potatoes. Maybe it's due to high altitude? The sausage and kraut were SO SO yummy! Thank you! Read More
