  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish with 1 tablespoon butter.
  2. Beat sweet potato, sugar, half-and-half, eggs, and vanilla together in a bowl with an electric hand mixer; spread into prepared casserole dish. Top sweet potato mixture with marshmallows.
  3. Stir 1/3 cup melted butter, brown sugar, pecans, and flour together in a bowl; sprinkle over marshmallows.
  4. Bake in preheated oven until hot throughout, about 30 minutes.

I also made this with no changes. So delicious! I did not bake any sweet potato pies this Thanksgiving and did not miss them. Do not leave off the pecans. They definitely add to the texture and ...

This was good but waaaaaay too sweet. Next time I will definitely adjust the brown sugar/butter topping, maybe just do half. With the vanilla and marshmallows, it was overwhelming.

I made this exactly as the recipe suggests and it was incredible! Best sweet potatoes ever - and made the marshmallow and pecan-crust crowd equally happy
