Super Moist Meatloaf

"This is a family recipe that is a big favorite at our house. By using fresh bread instead of dried bread crumbs, you get a meatloaf that is moist and delicious."

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Thoroughly mix ground beef, onion, eggs, bread, milk, green bell pepper, salt, sage, and black pepper together in a bowl. Press into a loaf pan. Spread ketchup over the top of the loaf.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until no longer pink in the center, about 45 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

This is one of our family favorites! I don't like green peppers so I don't include them, but apart from that we make this at least a couple time a month and we love it! Even the 2 and 4 year old...

I skipped the green peppers, just don't like them, and used cracker crumbs in stead of bread because that's easier. And it turned out great...everyone loved it.
