View All Saved Items Rate Print Share Share Tweet Pin Email Add Photo 3 3 3 Prep Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 55 mins Total Time: 1 hrs 20 mins Servings: 8 Yield: 8 servings Jump to Nutrition Facts Ingredients 1 tablespoon butter 1 onion, chopped 1 small green bell pepper, chopped 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 pound lean ground beef 15 saltine crackers, crushed 8 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese 1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix Directions In a medium skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic, onion, and green pepper and saute until onions are soft. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a large mixing bowl, place ground beef, crushed crackers, Cheddar cheese, taco seasoning, and sauteed onion and green pepper. Mix thoroughly. Press beef mixture into a 9x5 inch loaf pan. Bake in a preheated oven for 45 to 55 minutes or until done. Check with a meat thermometer for doneness. Internal temperature should read 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
