Strawberry Pie Filling

This pie tasted very good, but was soupy. Disappointed because the pie didn't set right and had to be scooped out with a spoon. I used 1/2 cup sugar because I read reviews that said it was too sweet. I wouldn't think that the sugar reduction would make it soupy. This recipe is a topping not a pie filler. Would be perfect on strawberry shortcake. 1/2 cup of sugar made this plenty sweet and I'm glad I didn't add the 3/4 cup.
