"This is a delicious red wine-based sangria that a Portuguese bartender shared with my sweetheart and me. We love it for Cinco de Mayo, on hot summer nights and in the dead of winter too. Cheers!"

  1. Stir red wine, ginger ale, orange juice, brandy, triple sec, sugar, cinnamon, and apple together in a large pitcher.
  2. Divide crushed ice evenly into six large wine glasses.
  3. Pour red wine mixture into each wine glass, making sure that each serving has a few pieces of apple.

We use Franzia Chillable Red Wine - it comes in a box. :-)

I made this just as listed and it was great! I didn't use cheap red wine, scrimped on the brandy. Made a great group drink for a birthday party! Have made several batches since.
