Turkey loaf is a mainstay of our budget meals. I make it once a week, changing the ingredients often to tweak the family's appetites! This is the latest version, well received.

  • With a fork, break the turkey meat into chunks in a bowl. Add egg, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, celery, red onion, bread crumbs, thyme, rosemary, marjoram, seasoned salt, and black pepper; mix thoroughly with hands. Gently pat the mixture into the prepared loaf pan, leaving a small space between the meat mixture and the sides of the pan. Spread chili sauce over the meat loaf.

  • Bake in the preheated oven until the juices run clear and an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of the loaf reads 160 degrees F/70 degrees C, 45 minutes to 1 hour. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

I made this exactly as the recipe states - the only change I made was to top it with barbecue sauce because I'm out of chili sauce. I liked the vegetables in it I'll definitely do that again. I would probably add a bit more salt but other than that it's a good recipe. Thanks for sharing! Read More

I added some shredded carrot and changed the chili sauce to bbq as I didn't know how spicy our young guests liked. My kids request it all the time now. The more veggies I can sneak in the better! I'll admit I didn't think this would be good but I was wrong! I did double the seasonings but otherwise followed the recipe. With Valentine's Day approaching I shaped it like a heart. The vegetable confetti added to the festive look. Read More
