Slow Cooker Chinese Carrots

"A simple side dish with bold flavor. I made a huge tray for a friend's fancy party and it was gone in no time. Everyone asked me for the recipe, but I had made it up! Serve with your favorite Chinese food."

  1. Place the baby carrots, orange juice concentrate, tamari sauce, garlic, ginger, orange zest, toasted sesame oil, and honey into a slow cooker, and mix well. Set the cooker to Low, cover, and cook for 8 hours. Turn setting to High, and cook for 30 minutes.

Okay, so I tried these.... cooked them with just the orange juice con. and honey for 5 hours on low then added the rest of the ingredients and cooked for 1 more hour. And my family really liked ...

Idid not care for this recipe. I can suggest like the previous review that the carrots be cooked alone with the orange and honey for an hour, or so ... NOT 8 hrs!! and then the other ingredient...

We brought this as a side to a dinner party, and thankfully the hostess had other options. I would not try this again.

It's even better roasted @ 400. The carrots caramelize, You don't even need the honey.
