Made this last night because I needed this seasoning for another recipe on the site (Bacon Roasted Chicken with Potatoes). Great seasoning!
I made this according to the recipe and it turned out great. Thank you for the recipe!
I've never actually had or used Adobo seasoning, but had another recipe that called for it. I used this blend in it's place and it was very very tasty! I'm keeping a little bottle in my spice cabinet and plan to use it on chicken. Very similar to taco seasoning, as another reviewer said, but I could tell a little bit of a difference.
I came across a recipe that called for adobo seasoning. I have never used it before & since we live 15 miles from anywhere, did not feel like a drive try the rain for a jar of spice. I found this recipe & found that I had all the ingredients in my cupboard! Thanks so much for a flavourful combo & a trip into town!!!
I made this a used ½ the salt as per the recipe. All I can say is it is AWESOME!!! You can always sprinkle on more salt is you like. Put it on fried chicken after it was cooked. Since I truly enjoyed the taste I am going to try the bacon wrapped chicken recipe. Thank you for sharing.
Doesn't taste too much different than taco seasoning.....
We love this! My teenager only wants this on chicken which I make weekly! Super easy to make.
I found it to be extremely bland , adobo off one of those $1 spice racks is far nastier . If you like spicy don’t bother .
I didn't have any garlic powder so I omitted the salt and used garlic salt jnstead. This is amazing! I grilled chicken on the George Foreman grill and this have it a great coating and flavor!
This seasoning mix is wonderful. I use it quite a bit to add a robust flavor to dishes and meats. This is a regular staple in my kitchen.
This seasoning works great for multiple uses. Best on pork or chicken. Doesn't matter if you bake, fry, grill, or even smoke. Love this.
Way too salty. I'll try half the salt next time. The mixture seems good otherwise, but that was salty.
I have shied away from recipes calling for adobo seasoning because the commercially prepared have far more salt than we can tolerate a d often have MSG in the mix. I just reduced the salt in this blend by half and it is perfect for us. Thank you, Traci, this will become a staple in my kitchen.
Great seasoning. I just didn’t know how much to use on chicken I over did it A sprinkle would have worked
Excellent combination of flavors! With a few changes this was perfect for my Chicharronnes de Pollo. 1/2 tb salt; use smoked paprika; 1-1/2 tsp oregano; 1-1/2 tsp garlic
This adobo seasoning is delicious! I made it this evening to go in our slaw for fish tacos, and what a treat. I’ll make sure to keep the unused portion on hand for other recipes and have made certain to save it to my favorites! For me, I didn’t want that much salt so I didn’t use it. Simple enough. It cracked me up seeing reviewers complain about the amount of salt and yet not taking action on their own to eliminate it from the beginning of creation what they know they don’t want. Oh well...thanks for the chuckle just the same and Thank you to the author for taking the time to share this recipe!
For these ease and availability of the ingredients this was great. We used it in a goulash recipe and it turned out great.
Made as is except I halved the salt. 2 tablespoons is way too much. Otherwise, it was a hit on the Mediterranean salad.
Soooooooo salty!! All the other flavours were beautiful. But definitely adjust the salt
This will be replacing our normal taco seasoning my family liked it that much. We have used it on homemade fries, fried venison steaks, an awesome pork loin we baked in the oven.
I've made this a couple of times and love it. That said I cut the salt in half and that's not something I normally do. My suggestion is to start with half the salt and eyeball the mixture. If it doesn't look like enough salt, add the rest.
I found it was a bit too salty and not (hot) peppery enough so I'll make the changes next time. That's a general bias for me.
This is excellent. I use it especially for grilled hamburgers and grilled vegetables and potatoes.
LOVE it!!!! On my second batch. I always use it on drumsticks. Quick supper, sprinkle this on both sides of chicken drumsticks, and in the oven. Smells amazing while cooking. Family loves it. I've used it on chicken breast as well, but will try it on hamburgs as one other review mentioned. Thanks for the recipe! Wendy
It was GREAT on popcorn but when I used it on my pork chops it was too salty so next time I am going to use 1/2 the salt called for. It is very addictive and I am looking forward to using it on chicken and in Sazon Rice, 1/2 Sazon mix and 1/2 Adobo mix. For the chops use 1 heaping table spoon with 1/4 cup olive oil and 1/4 cup lime juice and marinate overnight if possible. Bake at 375 for 30-35 minutes.
Great flavor, but a little too salty and spicy for us. I'll use less cumin and salt next time but I will definitely make this again.
It was good and tasty we even made allot we use it to enhance flavor of fried foods thank you for making it
Great flavor, but waaaay too salty. My 6 year old was the one to point that out. Wish I read the reviews FIRST :(
Love this recipe! I was skeptical at first, but was very surprised by the flavor. I now put it on just about everything! I always have it on hand!
Too salty for our tastes. Once I halved the salt, it was much better. May even go down to 1 tsp next time. Great flavors though - takes my chicken enchiladas to the next level! A staple in my spice cabinet :)
Great to make seasonings from ingredients you already have at hone!
I ran out of my favorite adobo tonight, and used this recipe. Aside from being a bit too salty, it is excellent, and a new favorite. I'm going to add around another 1/2 of everything except salt before storing . I can always salt more later. I use adobe to saute leftover roast chicken with green/red/orange peppers, jalapeno, onion and cilantro in olive oil. Very good recipe for roast chicken leftovers. Thank you for this wonderfully tasty recipe!
This was perfect for jazzing up my dish to amazing flavor and just t right heat .
