  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a medium saucepan, mix together sugar, cream of tartar, and water. Bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute. Drop in buttery round crackers, boil 2 minutes longer.
  3. Pour cracker mixture into pie shell. Sprinkle with cinnamon and dot with butter.
  4. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.

Soooo easy to make! I Have made several of these "mock apple pies" for the last 3 Holiday get togethers- have yet to hear a complaint except who got the last piece.

Many (!) years ago I found a recipe very similar to this on the Ritz Cracker Box - Mock Apple Pie. Made it quite often, so I'll give this recipe a try.
