  1. Combine cranberries, water, sugar, cinnamon sticks, and salt in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and cook until berries begin to burst, about 10 minutes.
  2. Stir in onion, raisins, apple, pear, and celery. Cook on medium heat 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir in the almonds and lemon zest to combine. Remove cinnamon sticks. Cool before serving, about 1 hour.

Loved it! Very good. I wanted to try something beside our tradition and this was really good.


I made this for Christmas dinner, and my family asked me to make it again a few days later!

Excellent. Made it to go with pork...delicious sweet and savory accompaniment. Lots of chopping, but well worth it. So much so, that I am tempted to can some for Christmas gifts!
