  1. Combine brown sugar, butter, rum, molasses, mustard, and cider vinegar in a large saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, and reduce heat to low. Simmer, stirring constantly, until sugar has melted and the glaze has thickened, about 8 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

  • Cook's Notes
  • For a darker glaze, use dark brown sugar instead of light.
  • To use glaze, apply to reheated cooked ham, and heat for an additional 15 minutes.

I've tried quite a few glazes but this one really is a hit! Who knew that some rum, sweet stuff and mustardy zing would produce such an outstanding ham. A must try.

The molassas completely overpowered the glaze and basically ruined it. I would NOT recommend this glaze at all!
