Overnight Apple Cinnamon French Toast

First, I didn't have apple pie filling, so I used tart thinly sliced apples (turned out to be the best part). I personally liked this recipe, but my "wannabe food critic" husband thought it tasted uncooked (it was thoroughly done). He didn't like the mushiness of the bread, but did think it tasted good. Of course, he doesn't like his regular french toast to be "creamy" in the middle either. Go figure.
