  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  • Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Allow mixture to cool.

  • In a medium bowl, beat eggs until frothy. Add butter mixture to eggs, beating until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract. Pour mixture into pastry shell.

  • Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.

I chose this pie because I was trying to duplicate the one from Furr's. Nope- nothing like it. I wanted a butter chess pie so this looked like it might work. It's not bad just not what I was looking for. Too sticky sweet for me. But if that's what YOU are looking for go for it! Read More
