  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

  • In a large mixing bowl combine sweet potatoes, milk, sugar, corn syrup, eggs, butter or margarine, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Blend with mixer or hand-held beaters until smooth. Pour mixture into pie shell.

  • Place in preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and bake for an additional 35 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. May have to shield crust edges with foil for last 20 minutes to prevent burning.

I have made this pie for the last 4 yaers for my husband at christmas he claimes that it is just like the pie his Grandma made him when he was younger I serve it with Cool-whip and everybody loves it. This is the only sweet potato pie recipe I will use. Read More

the low fat ice cream just didnt do it for me and the yogurt left the pie tasting like i just chewed gum and then drank a soda very bland! Other than that i feel that this would be a top contender in the pie race! Read More
