  1. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, cornstarch, allspice and nutmeg; mix well. Add juice or cider. Cook and stir over medium heat until syrup is bubbly and slightly thickened.

Although I thought this was a nice change, the fam was *NOT* keen on this at all. Instead of All-Spice and Nutmeg, I used Penzey's Apple Pie Spice.

It went great as a substitute for frosting on a cake. It was real easy to make and it was delicious even after being reheated the next day. I would strongly recommend this for anyone looking for...

Excellent on oatmeal, or to sweeten and flavor plain yogurt.
