  • In a small bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Gradually add milk and stir to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface, knead gently 3-4 times. Roll into a 10-in. x 5-in. x 1/2-in. rectangle; cut into 12 breadsticks. Place butter in a 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan. Place breadsticks in the butter and turn to coat. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 450 degrees F for 14-18 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.

If you love pizzeria-style breadsticks (as we do), you have to make these. I've been looking for this recipe for years! I followed the recipe pretty much exactly, except after turning them in the butter I sprinkled them with garlic powder and parmesan cheese. That last step is what really makes them great for us. I have to shake my head over the people that either decreased the milk or increased the flour and then complained of tough breadsticks! This is a quick bread recipe and, as such, to get a soft product, the dough will need to be sticky. For a fast breadstick, easily altered to taste, this is a recipe that I will use many times. These were really good and super easy to make. They don't rise too much in the oven so be sure not to roll them too flat. I didn't use sesame seeds, as I don't care for them, I instead covered the bread sticks with cheese, and after baking them sprayed them with butter and sprinkled some Italian seasonings. Yummy! These breadsticks were so tasty! The dough was very sticky, so make sure you flour your counter as well as the top of the dough as you roll it out. I also dusted the breadsticks lightly with garlic powder before baking. So yummy! Read More

These are really good i found if you use cinnamon(to replace the sesame seed) on a 1 tablespoon sugar to 1 and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon they make an amazing sweet treat. Read More

These breadsticks were ok. I might make them again. They weren't as soft and fluffy as I had hoped however, they are very quick and easy to make and taste pretty good. As others mentioned, I had to add another 1/4 cup flour as the dough was very sticky. I brushed the breadsticks with melted butter before baking and topped with oregano, salt and parmesan cheese. They only took about 10 minutes to bake. Next time I think I will turn down the oven heat to around 400 degrees. Read More

My son put these together tonight to go with our pizza. We made 8 sticks, they were very good. We need to either reduce temp or cook time so they are a little softer. Plus just getting used to this oven. :) We also used bread flour it was what I had onhand. Read More

This was a nice and easy recipe. Like other reviewers I added an extra 1/4 cup of flour, then I placed the breadsticks on a greased baking sheet and brushed the tops with melted butter combined with garlic and oregano.
